Know my God: John 1 (part 1)

John 1:1-18

What did the writer want the reader to know about God?
What did God want the reader to know about Himself?

Suggested usage:

1. Allow the anointing of this author’s revelation about God the Father, God the Son, and/or God the Holy Spirit to saturate your soul.
2. Speak each truth out loud into the atmosphere around you, saturating your atmosphere with your God.
3. Identify which truths affect you the most when you read it. Turn them into a prayer or a declaration.
4. Write one of the declarations that penetrate your heart the most on your bathroom mirror so you can see it everyday and declare it outloud and/or in your heart daily.

 


 

v1-2
The Word, Jesus, was in the beginning and fully God.

v3
He created all things.
Not one thing was created without him.

v4
Life was in him.
His life is the light for all.

v5
The light keeps shining on in the darkness.
The light can never be overcome by the darkness.

v6-8
God likes to send human beings to help other human beings. A man named John was sent in this case.

v7
God wants every single person to believe.

v9
The true light gives light to all people.

v10
He likes to be in and with his creation.

v11
He always initiates relationship, even if he knows he will be rejected.

v12
He wants every single person to receive him but he forces no one.
He grants ever single person who does recieve him, who does believe in his name, the right to become a child of God.

v13
He causes those who believe to be born of God!

v14
The Word decided to became a human, like you and me.
Jesus is the only birthed son of the Father.
Jesus is the glory of the Father, full of grace and truth.

v16
Jesus doesn’t withhold his fullness from any of us.

v18
Grace and truth were revealed through Jesus Christ.
