Galatians 5:1-26
Suggested usage:
1. Allow the anointing of the author’s revelation to saturate your soul as read these identity truths.
2. Turn each truth into a personal identity statement by changing “You” to “I”.
3. Identify which truths affect you more when you read it.
4. Write one of the truths that penetrate your heart the most on your bathroom mirror so you can see it everyday and declare it about yourself using both “you” and “I” statements.
v1
You are set free in Christ for the sake of freedom.
You have been set free by Christ.
Christ set you free but It is up to you now to stand strong in freedom.
You decide to stay in freedom or slavery.
v2-4
Your benefits in Christ don’t work under legalistic motivations.
Your benefits in Christ are inaccessible in slavery.
You are not one who seeks to be justified by your obedience to the law of Moses.
v5
You have access to faith through the Spirit.
You have already accessed faith through the Spirit.
By faith, you are waiting for the hope of righteousness.
v6
You live in the realm of Christ Jesus where legalistic means of righteousness mean nothing.
The realm you live in, in Christ, is one that operates by faith.
Your faith is rooted in the love of God.
v7
You have the decision making power to obey the truth.
You are a truth obeyer.
You are a discerner of truth.
v8
You will experience other voices trying to persuade you from the truth.
You have the ability to discern the noise of the evil one and the world.
v10
You can see the perspective of the Lord.
You can keep the perspective of the Lord.
v13
You were called to freedom.
Do not misuse or abuse the freedom you were given in Christ.
You can use your freedom to serve.
You can serve others through love.
v14
You have access to the kind of love that loves neighbor as self.
v16-17
You walk by the Spirit.
You do not carry out the desire of the flesh.
You carry out the desire of the Spirit.
v18
You are led by the Spirit.
You are not led by the desire of the flesh.
v19-21
You are not a slave to immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these.
Those who practice these things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
You are an heir of the kingdom of God.
v22-23
You walk in the fruit of the Spirit: the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and things like these.
v24
You belong to Christ!
You have crucified your flesh with its passions and desires (old self).
You are alive in the Spirit!
v25
You live by the Spirit.
You walk by the Spirit.
v26
You are not a boastful person.
You have no need to challenge others in a fleshly way.
You have no need to envy anyone.
