1 Peter 3:1-22

Suggested use:

  1. Allow the anointing of the author’s revelation to saturate your soul as read these identity truths.
  2. Turn each truth into a personal identity statement by changing “You” to “I”.
  3. Identify which truths affect you more when you read it.
  4. Write one of the truths that penetrate your heart the most on your bathroom mirror so you can see it everyday and declare it about yourself using both “you” and “I” statements.

Wives, you can win your husband to the word without a word!

v3-4
Wives, your beauty is truly in the hidden person of your heart.
Your heart beauty, a gentle and quiet, is precious to God’s heart.

v5-6
Your legacy comes from the holy women of the ages, who you can look to as an example of strength and fearlessness.

v7
Husbands, all that goes for you too!
Husbands, you are an empowering lifemate who honors your wife.
Husbands, your prayers depend on it.

v8
You have the ability to live:
in harmony,
sympatheticly,
brotherly,
kindhearted,
and humble in spirit.

v9
You are someone who responds with a blessing in all circumstances.
You are called to inherit blessing.

v10
You desire life.
You desire to love and see good days.

v11
You can keep your tongue from evil.
You can keep your own lips from speaking any deceit.
You can stop yourself from evil.
You can do good.
You can seek and pursue peace.

v12
Your choice to do good has a direct impact on your prayer connection with God.

v14
If you suffer for doing good, you are blessed.
You have the power to stand in goodness agsinst any intimidation.

v15
You are so free to choose that it is up to you to “sanctify” Christ as the Lord of your heart.
Your good response to evil will cause others to notice something different about you.
Your good response to evil lets others know you have a hope they don’t, and they may ask you about it.

v16
Your good behaviour in Christ will cause others to think about their own lives.

v17
You are called to “suffer” for doing what is right.
You will suffer at times for doing the right thing.

v18
You have a leader, Christ, who suffered unjustly for you, in order to bring you to God.

v21
You have been given a good conscience and it is up to you to keep it!
