My identity in Christ: 1 Peter 1

1 Peter 1:1-25

Suggested usage:

  1. Allow the anointing of the author’s revelation to saturate your soul as read these truths about your identity in Christ.
  2. Read each truth into a personal identity statement because each truth is about who you are in Christ.
  3. Identify which truths affect you more when you read it.
  4. Write one of the truths that penetrate your heart the most on your bathroom mirror so you can see it everyday and declare it about yourself using both “you” and “I” statements.

 


 

v2
I have been chosen by God the Father.
I have been sanctified by the Spirit.

v3
I have been born again into a living hope because God was compelled by His great mercy to save me!

v4
God gave me a new birth into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.

v5
I am being protected by the power of God through faith.

v7
My faith is genuine.
My faith is more precious than gold.

v8
I love him.
I believe in him.
My spirit is rejoicing with an indescribable and glorious joy.
I am receiving the outcome of my faith, the salvation of my soul.

v10-12
I have been served by the prophets who prophesied thousands of years ago.
My God inspired the prophets to release His grace intended for me thousands of years ago.

v13
My mind has the ability to be prepared for action.
I have the ability to discipline yourself.
I have the ability to set all of my hope on the grace that Jesus will bring me when he is revealed.

v14
As a child of God, I have been given the power to choose freedom over my former desires that I had before you received the grace of God.

v15
I have the power to be holy in all your thoughts, decisions, and actions.
Because I am God’s child, and God is holy, I, being his child, have the spiritual DNA to be holy, like him, because he is my Father.

v16
God has created me as an individual with the propensity to be holy.

v17
I have an individual calling from God.

v18-19
I was not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from my futile way of life inherited from my forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.

v20
I am a believer in God through Jesus.

v22
I have, in obedience to the truth, purified my soul for a sincere love of the brethren.

v23
I have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

v23
I have been born again through the living and enduring word of God.
